Two killed in SR 26 collision

A collision on eastbound State Route 26 proved deadly for two motorists on March 4, just 18 miles west of Washtucna.

The collision occurred when 19-year-old Chandler Tran’s vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming car, causing both vehicles to be ignited into flames.

Tran, a Tacoma resident, and Federal Way driver Kylie Hammington, 42, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
