The Ralston Grange will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at their hall in Ralston.
The program following the meeting will be presented by Codi Titus, Washington State Grange Junior Grange Director and Ralston Grange member, on “Summit Assistance Dogs” a Grange supported program that provides highly skilled mobility, hearing and professional therapy dogs for people living with disabilities or needing the comfort of a therapy dog. The program and meeting are open to the general public.
Projects the Ralston Grange will be sponsoring this spring include their annual Community Easter Egg Hunt, picking up litter along State Highway 261 as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program, and serving breakfast at the Lind Combine Derby in June.
A fund to rehabilitate the kiosk display at the Keppler Memorial Park in Ralston is also in the works and once firm estimates are received for the work planned, the Grange will be seeking help in financing this project. The kiosk display tells the story of the men from the Ralston and Benge communities who gave their lives during World War II protecting our freedom.
Currently these displays have to be redone every year or so. A new method of displaying the pictures and stories has been found that will last for many years.
