Courthouse alarm triggered by faulty sensor

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, Ritzville Fire Department crews responded to the Adams County Courthouse on West Broadway after a fire alarm sounded on the third floor.

The building was evacuated and firefighters began to search the building for any signs of a blaze.

According to Ritzville Fire Chief Jim Bostic, firefighters isolated the alarm to the west wing on the third floor of the building.

They discovered a faulty sensor had triggered the alarm.

Emergency responders verified there was no fire in the building and people began to re-enter the courthouse.
