Former Ritzville resident named principal of law firm

Gretchen Curran, Ritzville native and daughter of William and Carol Harting, was one of just three associates nationwide named principal of her law firm McKool Smith, P.C. on Thursday, Jan. 1.

Curran is based in the firm’s Houston office and focuses on patent, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation.

She has litigated commercial matters in both state and federal courts and has represented clients in patent cases before the Federal District Courts.

She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin Law School.

Before attending law school Curran graduated suma cum laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

McKool Smith, P.C., has been described by the Wall Street Journal as “one of the biggest law firm success stories of the past decade.”

The firm has won more National Law Journal and VerdictSearch “Top 100 Verdicts” in the last five years than any other law firm.
