COMBINE FIRE. A combine and field fire was among the many calls dispatchers and emergency responders dealt with during the year. This fire in August destroyed a combine and burned acres of stubble ground. After the filing period opened on Monday, May 12, 25 candidates had filed for election by Tuesday night. Positions filed for with multiple candidates included the Ritzville District Court Judge position, which was the one of two contested races within Adams County. The individuals filing for the district court judge position were incumbent Adalia A. Hille with Carolyn Benzel filing as her opponent.
