Broncos wrestlers hit the mat in first tournament

Six members of the LRS Broncos mat squad made the trip to Spangle on Saturday, Dec. 13, for the Liberty Tournament.

Matthais Ferderer started the day facing a Liberty wrestler who was a state tournament participant from last year.

He lost his first match of the day 7-3.

In his next match he faced an athlete from Republic, who he pinned.

Ferderer then faced off against an athlete from Newport and was pinned.

Michael Wheeler in his first-ever wrestling match was able to pin a member of the Republic mat squad.
