Recount of election occurred Dec. 3

After the press deadline of The Journal, the Adams County Canvassing Board of Elections met for a recount of ballots from the Nov. 4 General Election.

The Canvassing Board met for the purpose of conducting the recount of votes cast for the Ritzville District Court Judge position, as seven votes separated the two candidates for the office.

At press time, incumbent Adalia Hille led opponent Carolyn Benzel.

At the conclusion of the recount, the Canvassing Board certified the candidate elected to the District Court Judge position.
