Mary S. Woodbury, 73, of Spokane Valley, dies on Nov. 17 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Ritzville, Jan. 26, 1941 to the late Melvin & Tannis Hollenback.
Mary graduated from Kahlotus High School in 1958. She was married to Jack Woodbury in 1967 and they lived together in the same home foe 47 years.
She loved spending time at their lake cabin on Loon Lake and spent most summer weekends enjoying the warm sunshine and waves on the shore. The s’mores, hot dogs and many laughs shared around the campfire were among her favorites. She also loved visiting with her siblings around the kitchen table on the family farm.
Mary is survived by her husband Jack and two children: Patrick Woodbury of Vancouver; and Kimberly Mellish of Otis Orchards. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Nicole and Ashley Woodbury of Vancouver, sister Carol Becker, Ritzville, brothers; Richard (Buck) Washtucna; Don, Pasco; Doug, Kahlotus/Washtucna.
There will be no services as Mary preferred a picnic with family and friends to be held early next summer.
In lue of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Horizon Hospice of Spokane or the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
