July 20, 1:11 p.m.- While on Patrol Sgt. Mark Cameron stopped Regan Flowers for a traffic violation. It was found that Flowers had an outstanding warrant in Spokane County. She was arrested and booked into the Adams County Jail.
July 20, 5:58 p.m.- A complainant on West Main Avenue advised that two juveniles had sprayed oil all over the front of their building after the told the juveniles to leave. Officer Matt Carlson and Sgt Cameron contacted the complainant and the juveniles. Both admitted some responsibility to the mess. The juveniles parents were contacted and were informed their children needed to clean up the mess. Cameron and Carlson waited until both juveniles had arrived before they cleared.
July 25, 8:52 p.m.- Officer Matt Carlson and Sgt Cameron responded to the city park where a complainant reported a male subject was harassing their daughters. James Tubbs of Ritzville was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct and was administratively booked into the Adams County Jail.
July 27, 9:39 p.m.- Officer Tom Gracie responded to West Fourth Avenue where a complainant reported a subject had climbed over the fence around their patio and had pulled plants out of the fishpond there. Gracie made contact with the complainant who showed him video of the subject. Gracie located the subject and booked them into Adams County Jail after they admitted to vandalizing the pond and taking cigarettes.
Aug 5, 2:57 a.m.- Adams County Dispatch advised Sgt. Cameron of an incident of shoplifting at Love’s Truck Stop. Cameron arrived on scene where the complainant showed his footage of two male subjects picking through clothing. The subjects then left with one of them carrying items that had been set aside. One of the employees reported the two subjects entered a dark colored minivan and left. Cameron was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.
Aug. 6, 11:19 p.m.- While observing traffic on Adams Street Sgt. Cameron witnessed a juvenile smoking. Cameron contacted the juvenile and cited the subject for possession of tobacco and made them destroy the cigarette.
Aug. 8, 12:36 a.m.- While on patrol Sgt. Cameron found a “No Parking” sign still attached to its 4-by-4 post laying on the fourth green of the Ritzville Golf Course. It appeared as though someone had attempted to plant the sign into the cup of the green. The sign had tipped over and made an 18-inch cut into the green. Cameron also noticed the flag was missing. He was unable to locate anyone in the area and notified city crews to collect the sign.
Aug. 15, 2:37 p.m.- Officer Carlson met with a complainant on West First Avenue who told Carlson their husband had taken their dogs. Carlson explained that Washington is a Community property state and the dogs belong to both of them. The complainant then advised their husband was driving a stolen vehicle out of Utah and that he had switched the plates with a vehicle parked in front of Evergreen Implement two nights earlier.
Aug. 16, 4:04 p.m.- While pursuing Nick McWain on a warrant service he evaded arrest and in the process stole a $20 brown sweatshirt from Love’s Truck Stop. Love’s provided the Ritzville Police Department with a copy of the footage that shows McWain taking the sweatshirt and exiting through the front door as Officer Carlson and Sgt. Cameron were entering through the back door.
Aug. 16, 5:09 p.m.- The Ritzville Police Department recovered a 2006 white Chevy Silverado that had been stolen out of Utah. Probable cause was developed to charge Nick McWain with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The charge was referred to the Adams County Prosecutor’s Office.
Aug. 16-,8:06 p.m.- Sgt. Cameron responded to South Bauman Street after a complainant reported a fuel spill there. He found a few gallons of fuel had spilled and secured the area until the Ritzville Fire Department arrived.
Aug. 16, 9:28 p.m.- A complainant advised dispatch they had seen the subject wanted for a warrant out of Utah at the Colwell Motor Inn. Sgt. Cameron, Police Chief Dave McCormick, Officer Carlson, Deputy Jeffery Lane of the Adams County Sheriff’s Department and Trooper Bruner of the Washington State Patrol attempted to locate him but the suspect eveded capture for the second time that day.
Aug. 17, 10:36 p.m.- Adams County Dispatch advised Officer Carlson of a wanted subject at the Colwell Motor Inn. Carlson observed the subject run into a room and pursued. The subject ran out the back of the room and into the alley but was caught by Carlson and the Washington State Patrol near Jackson Street. The subject was booked into Adams County Jail on a felony warrant charge out of Utah and possession of stolen property.
Aug 19, 8:09 p.m.- While conversing with residents on Columbia Street Officer Carlson observed a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed on Division Street. Carlson confirmed the motorcycles speed at 70 mph. Carlson conducted a traffic stop and the subject was arrested for reckless driving and was booked into the Adams County Jail.
Sept ,. 2, 7:46 p.m.- Sergeant Cameron arrested a juvenile for attempted assault in the fourth degree and possession of marijuana less than 40-grams. The juvenile was released to their guardian.
