Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
There is a very great need for volunteers to serve on our boards and commissions for our city. I have put together a list explaining what each committees functions are and when they meet each month. The importance of each of these commissions and boards is to assist the city council and make recommendations on various issues.
Planning/Historic commission—meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Their function is to review and make recommendations to council regarding land use decision, building codes within the city and surrounding area. Review of signs and upholding historic design regulations in our down town historic area.
Civil Service Commission—meets on an as needed basis and deals with police issues.
Ritzville Public Development Authority—meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and deals with establishing and supporting new business.
Helping Others Board—a board of 3 members set up to decide if people qualify for “helping others” funds regarding their utility bills. Meets on an as needed basis.
Tree Board is an advisory board promoting the education and care and maintenance of trees.
We all have restraints and commitments on our time, however these committees play a great deal of importance regarding the inner working of the city.
If you would like further information please call City Hall at 659-1930.
Your help would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
