Council approves hospital’s road closure request

The Ritzville City Council approved the East Adams Rural Hospital’s request to close one block of Washington Street as a staging area for the construction, which is beginning Nov. 18.

The street closure would primarily affect access to hospital owned property.

The council added the caveat to the agreement that the hospital would be responsible to repair any damage that occurs to the street.

Council members then turned their attention to the public hearing for the 2013 Ad Valorum Taxes. There was no public comment during the hearing. They approved an increase in the regular property tax.
