Jack C. Scheeler, 89, a resident of Lind died on October 8,.
Jack was born on December 13, 1924 to John, Sr. and Hilda (Floether) Scheeler, one of 10 children: Amelia, Ella, Esther, John, Jr., (Jack), Richard, Elsie “Gerry”, Beth, Marjorie, and Don.
Jack graduated from Lind High School and continued the family dryland wheat farming tradition. Jack married Irene Fode, also of Lind, on September 18, 1953.
They had two daughters: Marcia born in 1955 and Janet in 1958.
Jack and Irene had many happy times during their 61 years together, while also working hard at and supporting the farming operation.
In early years, Jack enjoyed fishing, goose, pheasant and duck hunting, and bowling, and was a member of the Lind Active/Lions Club, the Lind School Board, and Good Hope Lutheran Church. Jack was a wheat farmer through-and-through, and harvest was his favorite time of the year. His love and concern for the well-being of his wife, children and grandchildren were foremost in his mind, always.
Surviving are his wife, Irene; daughters Marcia (John) Eakins of Spokane and Janet Phillips of Lind; grandchildren Jake Phillips of Spokane and Kaytlin Phillips of Pullman; sister, Marge (Jack) Hughes; brother, Don (Kathleen) Scheeler; sister-in-law, Rose Scheeler; brother-in-law, Milt Klettke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Church service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Lind. Danekas Funeral Home, Ritzville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
