The Tigercats went on the road to face Touchet in league competition and returned home with a 0-46 loss to the Indians.
The game started in favor of the Tigercats, who moved the ball down the field at will against Touchet. In the first possessions of the game, the Tigercats quickly gained yardage from their own 34-yardline to Touchet’s 21-yardline before turning the ball over on downs.
During the rush, the Tigercats earned two of their five first downs in the game.
The momentum quickly shifted in favor of the Indians who ran at will against the Tigercats. The Indians found the end zone 10 plays later, racking up six first downs as they went.
The Tigercats regained possession, but the Indians’ Luis Garcia picked off LWK quarterback Chance Rice in the first play of the scrimmage. Garcia would run the ball back 58 yards for a Touchet touchdown.
The scoring streak continued for the Indians early in the second quarter, and began subbing in new athletes. The Indians posted 22 points in the second quarter, leaving the Tigercats with a 38-0 deficit at halftime.
The Indians let off the gas in the second half, only scoring a single touchdown off of a Tigercats fumble. The Tigercats had three fumbles in the game, each time for a loss of possession.
Garrett Correll led the Tigercats in rushing yards with 20, while Cole Evans had 16. Kaese Ramos carried for 15 yards, and Tom VanCamp for nine.
Rice threw for 54 yards, with nine attempts, four completions and two interceptions.
The Tigercats host Liberty Christian in Kahlotus at 2 p.m. on Oct. 10.
