Marley R. Stehr, 83, died Friday, Sept. 19, at Prestige Care and Rehabilitation in Clarkston.
Marley was born March 10, 1931, in Ritzville, Wash., to Otto and Milda Stehr.
Marley grew up working beside his father and siblings at the O.C. Stehr Jersey Dairy. He was a wiz at fixing cars and worked for the Chrysler/Plymouth dealer during his school years.
His experience as a mechanic helped him in acquiring a service station in Odessa. Marley moved to Moscow in the early 1960s where he continued to work in the car business both as a mechanic and a parts man.
In 1970, he went to work as the locksmith for the University of Idaho, retiring in 1993.
He is survived by five children, Nancy (Bill) Szyjkowski of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Marilee (Chuck) Meeks of Spokane, Janet (Pat) Daley of Clayton, Robin (Doug) Blume of Clarkston, and Mike Stehr of Cheney; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Anderson; and brothers, Brian (Sandra) Stehr, Lee (Marlene) Stehr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 39 years, Mickey; daughter, Barbara Zaat; siblings, Everett and Fern Stehr; and brother-in-law, John Anderson.
There will be no services at Marley’s request.
