Alice M. Ross, 93, died September 26 in Spokane.
Alice was born to Frederick and Barbara (Harter) Hoffman in Colfax on July 14, 1921. She attended the country school and graduated high school in Colfax. Alice majored in home economics at WSU and after graduation taught in Sunnyside.
While teaching at Sunnyside, Alice met Roderick W Ross at a friend’s wedding and they married on January 23, 1947.
She joined Rod on the farm between Kahlotus and Washtucna.
Together, they had three children: Bill, Dale and JoAnn.
After 55 years on the farm, Alice and Rod moved to Orchard Crest. Rod passed away December 31, 2003 and Alice continued to reside at Orchard Crest until her death.
Alice is survived by her three children and five grandchildren: Heather Whitney, Cali Ross, Sophia Ross, Kelsey Ross and Jaime Ross; four great grandchildren: Grey Whitney, Shyah Ross, Mila Ross and Rhyis Ross.
A mass celebrating her life will be held at St Patrick Catholic Church in Colfax Friday October 3, at 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by Interment at Pioneer Cemetery in Washtucna at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 3.
Danekas Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
