Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
As an Adams County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney from 2010 to 2013, I practiced almost exclusively in the Ritzville District Court. I also worked alongside Carolyn Benzel in the prosecutor’s office during this time period. As a result, I feel that I am uniquely qualified to comment on the upcoming election for Ritzville District Court Judge.
I wholeheartedly support Carolyn Benzel in this election. During my three years working with Carolyn, I was impressed by her extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system, her no-nonsense approach to her work, her keen intelligence, and, quite frankly, her common sense. Furthermore, her 15 years of serving as a prosecutor in rural Eastern Washington are a testament to her devotion to the pursuit of justice, and have endowed her with the knowledge and experience to fairly and efficiently carry out the duties of Ritzville District Court Judge.
Having spent more time in the Ritzville District Court during my three-year tenure in the Adams County Prosecutor’s Office than any other attorney during that time period, I know better than anyone that there is a definite and pressing need for improvement within that judicial office. I also know what it would take for someone to excel as a Ritzville District Court Judge, and believe me -- Carolyn Benzel has got it.
Please vote for Carolyn Benzel. Her experience, intelligence, and temperament all combine to make her the right choice for Ritzville District Court Judge.
Kim Horner, Attorney at Law & Former Ritzville Resident, Ellensburg
