The Ralston Grange is hosting a barbecue at the Keppler Memorial Park in Ralston Sunday, Sept. 14, beginning at 1 p.m.
The barbecue is for members and anyone in the surrounding communities who have helped the Grange throughout the year by attending one of the Grange’s activities, supporting their fundraisers, or helping with one of the Grange’s many projects.
The barbecue will be followed with some games and races for the kids and a mini-horseshoe throwing tournament.
Participants need to bring either lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, and the Grange will provide the food and table service for the event.
In the last year the Ralston Grange has sponsored community Thanksgiving and Christmas potlucks and parties, taken part in the Grange “Words For Thirds” project which provides dictionaries to all area third grade students, held a Cribbage Tournament, and awarded $3,000 in scholarships to area graduates.
The Grange also held its annual Easter Egg Hunt for area children and sponsored its second fundraiser for the Ritz Theatre.
Most recently, the Grange entered display booths at the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair for Ralston and its Junior Grange and provided food and entertainment during the fair at its Bingo concession.
The Grange meets the fourth Wednesday of each month except July and August.
