Gale O. Gfeller

Gale O. Gfeller, died on July 20 in Ritzville.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1930, in Lind to Otto and Edith Gfeller.

Gale married Imra Bossert in Kamloops, British Columbia on Feb. 16, 1955. They had four children: Greg Gfeller of Post Falls, ID, Kathy Wilcox of Harrington, WA, Garry Gfeller of Chatteroy, WA, and Pam Arena of Wenatchee, WA.

He farmed the land homesteaded by his grandfather Gottfried Gfeller, for 30 years after returning from Korea and his time in the Army. They moved to Lind in 2000.

Gale served as Adams County Commissioner for eight years, the Lind Grange Board and Adams County Fire Commission. He was a long time member of the Lind Lions Club. Gale was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and a member of the church board for many years.

People who knew Gale knew he had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. Gale is preceded in death by his parents and sister Pat Kleinschmidt. He is survived by his wife Irma in Lind, his children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life services will be held at Good Hope Lutheran Church on July 25 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at the Lind Cemetery.

The family would love to visit with folks at the Lind Senior Center following the burial. His family would like to send special thanks to the staff at Rose Garden Estates for the care they extended to Gale and his family.
