Ritzville PD executes search warrant for animal issue

The Ritzville Police Department executed a search warrant on East Cherry Avenue on Thursday, July 17, to check on the health of a multitude of cats reported at the residence.

Prior to issuing the search warrant, the RPD had received numerous complaints and statements regarding the lack of care for the cats within the residence, and had been told more than 40 cats resided in the home.

The search warrant, signed by Superior Court Judge Steve Dixon, allowed law enforcement officers to search the property to locate and seize cats appearing to be neglected, malnourished, ill, injured or deceased.
