Burn ban implemented on DNR lands

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has implemented a burn ban on DNR protected lands.

The ban began July 1 and runs until Sept. 30. The ban applies to all forestlands under DNR protection but does not include federally owned lands.

All burning on DNR lands is prohibited except for recreational fires in approved fire pits within designated campgrounds.

Another exception is grills or barbecues fueled by gas or propane. Charcoal briquettes, however, are not permitted.

More information is available through the DNR at http://www.dnr.gov/Publications/rp_burn_ban_factsheet.pdf.
