Area teams find success at Hoopfest

Several teams from the surrounding areas competed in the annual Spokane Hoopfest Tournament during the last weekend in June.

The tournament draws over 7,000 teams and takes over 42 downtown blocks of Spokane each year.

Multiple local area teams competed in the event this year. Two placed first in their brackets and another two took second place.

The teams competing at the tournament included:

Team Encore with Bryce Hansen, Bryce Kelly, Lacey Miller and Lakai Panter who took second place in their coed bracket.

Team Buns and Guns with Tessa Jantz, Ryan Ricks, Madison Harder and Tanner Groves who took first in their high school coed bracket.

Team Hello Newman with team members Jenna Bennett, Madison Charleton, Kyle Canaday and Natalee Hayes, who finished second in their bracket.

Team Kappas with Elleigh Kaino, Andrea Bennett, Kaytlin Phillips and Madeline Isaak made it to the semi-finals in their bracket.

Team Show Me Your Tweets with Dylan Hartz, Bridger Smith, Tyler Frederick and Connor O’Neill won their high school boys bracket.

Team Please Don’t Hurt Us with Bryce Esser, Camden Smith, Aaron Ritz and Damien Rouleau were knocked out of their bracket after two losses.

Team Fleming with Jacob Saetre, Trevor Jantz, Dylan Becker and Nick Fleming won the consolation bracket in their group.

Show Me Your Tweets won their high school coed bracket for the third consecutive year.
