Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
Due to ongoing drought conditions in Washington State, Adams County along with Franklin, Grant, and Lincoln counties have been designated eligible to implement the Livestock Feed Program.
The Livestock Feed Program makes direct payments to eligible producers to help support their production through drought or pasture loss from fire. The Eligibility period is based on the severity of the drought. Currently, Adams County is eligible for one month of compensation under the LFP.
Producers can file for benefits under LFP through the Farm Service Agency. The Application requires an acreage report and an inventory of stock during the 60 days prior to the designation of eligibility. For Adams County this would be April 15 through June 15, 2014.
The deadline for filing is January 1, 2015. For further details the FSA can be contacted at 509-659-1761.
