The public is invited to spend an afternoon on the farm learning how food is produced. The field day is geared at encouraging all individuals to learn about farming.
The Washington State University Lincoln-Adams County Extension Office will host “Know Your Food” from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., June 21, at the WSU Wilke Farm.
WSU faculty and industry professionals will speak about how agriculture impacts the state’s economy, what GMOs are and how they are used, how growers safely use pesticides and more.
The event includes lunch featuring local ingredients, WSU Ferdinand’s ice cream and giveaways.
The cost is $12 per person or $20 per couple.
The event is part of WSU’s yearlong celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Extension.
The WSU Wilke Farm is located at 39440 State Route 2 East in Davenport.
