Burning season ends June 15

Open burning within Adams County and the city limits of Ritzville, Washtucna and Lind will close at dusk on Sunday, June 15.

No open fires for the burning of vegetation or other matter are permitted in town or in rural areas. Burning season remains closed until some time in the fall.

Local fire chiefs remind citizens that as drying conditions become more severe to take extra care with barbecues, cigarettes and as the Fourth of July approaches, fireworks.

Any type of outdoor fire requires constant attention and care.
