Driver airlifted after I-90 wreck

A mid-afternoon, single vehicle accident resulted in 22-year-old Libby, Mont., driver Lacey Anderson being airlifted to Harborview Hospital in Seattle.

The vehicle had been traveling westbound, six miles west of Ritzville, when the left rear tire blew out. The blow out caused Anderson to lose control of the 1990 Toyota pickup.

The vehicle left the roadway to the right before rolling over and coming to rest upright on the onramp at Milepost 215. The driver had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Anderson was transported via aid car to East Adams Rural Hospital before being airlifted to Seattle. The cause of the accident is attributed to the blown rear tire.
