FIRST PLACE. All eyes were on LaCrosse senior Darcy Stamper in the high jump competition on Saturday afternoon when he tied his personal record of 6-06 and attempted a 6-08 jump. Stamper easily took the high jump win over the field of 30 competitiors, and also jumped 21-07.25 in the long jump for a personal record and the event win at the Undeberg Invitational in Ritzville. -Journal photo by Katelin Davidson
With a limited number of athletes from the SJELWK team attending the annual Undeberg Invitational track meet on April 26, the team still found success in multiple events.
Led by senior athlete Darcy Stamper, the SJELWK boys’ team tied the LRS Broncos for 17th place with 20 points. The girls’ team placed 20th with a total of eight points.
Stamper secured his first top placement of the day with a personal record of 21-07.25 in the long jump. He also took home first place in the high jump, tying his personal best with a jump of 6-06.
