Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
Spring sports have begun and the teams are practicing for the games that are coming up soon. The baseball and softball teams have a game on Thursday, and there is a track meet on Thursday in Odessa.
Practice is going well for the baseball and softball teams. I asked several team members how practice was going and if they were enjoying it.
Lacey Miller said, “I enjoy practice because we are developing needed skills and are learning game situations.”
Aaliyah Yaegar said, “We work hard as a team together. Since the eighth graders came we are building confidence.”
Michael Murphy said, “We are able to improve our skills and performance every day, and Coach Arlt makes practice fun.”
The track team has two types of practice days, A days and B days. A days are when the team works on their running and endurance skills. B days are when they work in the weight room and improve their field events. I asked two team members which day they liked better.
Cinthia Guizar said, “B days, because I get to improve in my field events.”
Madison Melcher said, “B days, because we get to do our workout and then work on our own events.”
Make sure to cheer on our Bulldog teams at their events this spring!
