Hay Growers Association slates field day

Northeast Washington Hay Growers’ Association announces its spring field day on May 10 at Larry Kiewert’s Hawk Farm, a little over six miles north of Deer Park on Sherman Road. The annual field day is popular with area hay growers because there is always something new to be learned, said Tom Platt with WSU Extension in Davenport.

This year’s topics include seedbed preparation, pre-and post-emergent herbicides, tips for swather maintenance and operation, and personal protective equipment for mixing and applying herbicides and working in the shop.
