Easter services provided by local churches

Many local churches are hosting special Easter church services in recognition of the holiday.

The following list of services are those provided at the time of publication.

Emanuel Lutheran Church

The Emanuel Lutheran Church’s Easter services begin with a Palm Sunday service on April 13 at 11 a.m. On Maundy Thursday, April 17, a service is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Easter breakfast is scheduled for Easter day, April 20, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a worship service at 11 a.m.

Washtucna Community Church

The Washtucna Community Church begins Easter services on Good Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m. with a dramatic play called, “Have you seen my son?”

The Easter sunrise service is scheduled on April 20 at 7:30 a.m., and includes mostly singing and a short children’s message in the sanctuary. The worship service is immediately followed by Easter breakfast. Any individual interested in contributing food is asked to contact Karyn Allen at [email protected] or 660-7663.

Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ

Services at Zion Philadelphia UCC begin on Sunday, April 13, at 9 a.m. with Palm Sunday breakfast, followed by a Palm Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. A Maundy Thursday service is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 17.

On April 18, the church is open for quiet meditation on Good Friday from noon until 1:30 p.m. Easter day, April 20, the church is hosting a sunrise service at the community cemetery at 6:30 a.m., followed by the Easter worship service at 10:30 a.m.

Good Hope Lutheran

The Good Hope Lutheran Church in Lind begins Easter services on April 13 with a Palm Sunday Community Service at 11 a.m. The church is hosting a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. on April 16.

The Good Friday service begins at 8 p.m. on April 18. The Easter service on April 20 begins at 11 a.m. with a worship service.

On Wednesday, April 30, the church is hosting a community potluck at 5:30 p.m. followed by a concert by the Blackwood Legacy from Nashville at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

Sprague Lutheran Church

The Sprague Lutheran Church begins Easter services with a Palm Sunday Service at 9 a.m. on April 13. The church is having a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. on April 17. The Good Friday service is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 18.

The church is having an Easter service at 9 a.m. on April 20.

On Friday, May 2, the church is hosting a community potluck at 5:30 p.m. followed by a concert by the Blackwood Legacy from Nashville at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

Ritzville Foursquare Church

The Ritzville Foursquare Church is having Easter brunch at 10:15 a.m. on April 20, followed by a church service at 11 a.m. During the service, there will be lots of singing and an opportunity for praying for the needs of the congregation. The sermon for Easter is “The Power of the Resurrection.”

New Hope Center

The New Hope Center is having Easter services on Sunday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m. with a special Easter luncheon to follow.

Lind Calvary Assembly of God

The Lind Calvary Assembly of God Church is having an Easter service on April 20 at 10:30 a.m.

Benge Community Church

The Benge Community Church is having an Easter sunrise service on Sunday, April 20, at 7:30 a.m. Bob Bridge and Jerry Snyder are officiating the ceremony at the Hill of Three Crosses at Cow Creek Falls and Mack Road.
