City calls for walk and bike path bids

The next phase of the city’s walk and bike path will become a reality this summer.

Tuesday city council members unanimously approved a call for bids for the second phase of the project. Bids will be opened on May 5.

The project stretches from Division Street, along Bauman Road to Weber Road down to Jackson Street. It will include 1,000 feet of concrete sidewalk, 500 feet of bike path and 680 feet of hot mix asphalt.

Council member Scott Yaeger said construction should begin the first of June and be completed by mid-July.
