The Lind-Ritzville FFA Chapter has a team of members making a return trip to the National FFA Convention in October to compete in Agronomy.
This is the second consecutive year for the Lind-Ritzville FFA Chapter to send an Agronomy team to nationals, and the four years prior, the Lind FFA Chapter sent a team to compete.
The chapter had three teams travel to Pullman on March 26 to compete in the state FFA Agronomy contest, and two Lind-Ritzville teams secured the top two places in the state.
With 12 students participating in the competition, the Lind-Ritzville FFA chapter members all placed in the top 15 as individuals at the contest.
Placing first in the competition, and earning a trip to nationals for the top finish, is Dinah Gadberry. Individually, Tyler O’Brien finished third, Matt Leffel fourth, BJ White fifth, Brian Campbell sixth, Kate Schell seventh, Madison Harder ninth and Ryan Frederick 10th. Heidi Hennings, Raeann Hoeft, Taylor Kulm and Tessa Jantz all finished in the top 15.
The first place team of Campbell, O’Brien, Leffel and White all earned a trip to nationals by placing as the best team in the state. With five individuals traveling to nationals, four will compete and one will travel as an alternate.
