Police to begin search for new recruit

The Ritzville Police Department will lose one of its officers on Feb. 28. Police Chief David McCormick confirmed Officer Hunter Klewin has been hired by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

McCormick said Tuesday he hopes to hire a lateral candidate, someone who is already working as a police officer somewhere else. The other option is to hire a new recruit and send them to the state’s police academy.
