Saturday blaze destroys shed

Ritzville Fire Department tackled a structure fire late Saturday night. Crews responded to the 200 block of Alder where they found a shed fully engulfed in flames at 11:25 p.m.

Fire Chief Jim Bostic said a total of 15 firefighters with four trucks battled the blaze. The fire did not spread to the occupied residence.

The initial cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.

Bostic said the Ritzville Ambulance also responded to provide aide and warmth as crews wrestled with the fire during a snow storm.

Crews continued to work on the call and clean up until about 2 a.m....
