Dec. 23, 10:34 a.m. – Trinidad, Calif., complainant advised he had paid Adams Automotive to tow his vehicle and now won’t be allowed to collect his belongings out of the vehicle. Sergeant Ben Buriak called the complainant and was advised there was another tow en route to move the vehicle. Buriak contacted both tow companies to advise of the situation before contacting the complainant again and advising him to make a complaint to the tow inspector in reference to the matter.
Dec. 23, 10:00 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of someone breaking into an old shop at the potato shed station and stealing the old motors that are in there. Sergeant Buriak contacted the complainant at the shop and was advised six motors and booster pumps were taken from the shop within the last month. It is believed the last time the shop was entered was over the weekend due to tire tracks in the snow.
Dec. 23, 8:23 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a silver two-door Taurus type vehicle in the ditch on North Deal Road. Complainant advised she stopped, but there was no one around. Sergeant Buriak contacted the vehicle and occupants from the accident. It was learned the collision occurred the previous evening when the driver hit ice and spun off the road. No injuries were sustained.
Dec. 23, 7:27 – Moses Lake complainant advised he is in a Toyota Camry and cannot make it up the hill on North Batum Road due to ice. He is concerned someone may come over the hill and hit him. Sergeant Buriak called the complainant and was advised he was off the roadway. Adams County Road Department was contacted to sand the roadway.
Dec. 22, 11:03 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a 911 call coming off of the cell phone tower on North Koch Road with a crying baby, child caller and a woman speaking Spanish in the background, with the child saying “We crashed.” The call ended abruptly with a child crying and the callback went to a prerecorded message. Jailer Corey Luck listened to the call to see if he could pick out anything from the Spanish speaking female. Washington State Patrol was advised and Trooper Carmen Harrington checked I-90 in the county while Deputy Ned Bernath check Schrag, Koch and Deal Roads to the county line. No other calls were received.
Dec. 22, 11:58 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a suspicious subject aggressively panhandling on West First Avenue. The subject was contacted about the complaint and advised he would move on.
Dec. 21, 2:56 p.m. –
Othello complainant contacted dispatch regarding a suspicious person burglarizing his property in Hatton. Sergeant Adolfo Coronado responded to the incident location and determined the person in question had items remaining on the property in question. Sergeant Coronado advised the complainant he needed to proceed with the civil eviction process in order to prevent further access.
Dec. 20, 7:49 p.m. –
Deputy Bernath was advised by dispatch of a truck transporting hazardous materials parked on Danekas Road near Schoessler Road. The drive was having medical problems. The subject removed the truck from the roadway and parked it near his residence in Ritzville. The driver was transported to East Adams Rural Hospital by ambulance.
Dec. 20, 4:20 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of children riding four wheelers while other kids were sledding. Complainant was concerned someone would be hit. Deputy Jeffrey Lane spoke with a parent on scene who did not know who was riding the four wheelers or where they went, but happened it occurred earlier when it was still light.
Dec. 20, 1:47 p.m. – Washington State Patrol advised for a single vehicle rollover with unknown injuries on South Highway 395 at milepost 77. WSP requested agency assistance due to being occupied with multiple collisions on I-90. Sergeant Buriak was near the location when the request was made and arrived on scene, locating a black Ford pickup on its side with the driver trapped inside with head trauma. Buriak controlled the scene until Fire, EMS and WSP arrived.
Dec. 20, 1:25 p.m. – Washington State Patrol requested assistance at a fatal collision on I-90. Deputy Lane responded.
Dec. 19, 10:16 p.m. – Moses Lake complainant reported her son-in-law threw her out of his home in Lind. Sergeant Coronado arrived on scene and spoke to all parties involved. There were conflicting stories about what had occurred and during the investigation it was discovered the son-in-law was growing marijuana in the residence. The subject admitted to having plants in the home but advised he was growing them for the complainant, who has valid medical authorization to possess cannabis.
Dec. 19, 8:11 p.m. – Townsend, Mont., complainant requested assistance at West First Avenue in Ritzville. The complainant was requesting a voucher for a hotel room in town. The area was checked but the complainant was not located.
Dec. 18, 4:23 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised his black lab had been missing for over an hour. The complainant was provided with the number to Adams County Pet Rescue and to call back if the dog returned. The complainant called back later to advise the dog had been located.
Dec. 18, 11:52 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a theft of a generator some time ago on East Seventh Street. Deputy Lane made contact on Dec. 19.
Dec. 18, 12:09 a.m. –
Washtucna complainant advised she was unable to contact her husband via phone and was concerned for his welfare. Complainant requested a deputy to check on him. Deputy Bernath contacted the subject who advised he was fine and was asleep when his wife tried to call him. Subject called his wife back and advised all was fine.
Dec. 17, 9:55 p.m. –
Grangeville, Idaho, complainant advised her car was stolen from East Highway 26 and North Main Street in Washtucna. Deputy Bernath took a stolen report form, which the complainant filled out and signed, and surrounding agencies were notified of the theft. The complainant gave a taped statement at the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was recovered by Moses Lake Police Department on Dec. 18.
Dec. 17, 4:45 p.m. – Othello complainant advised her daughters have been slapped in their genital and buttocks region by other students at school. Complainant has notified the Lind Grade School and the behavior hasn’t stopped. Sergeant Buriak contacted and interviewed the victims involved and returned to the school for follow up the next day.
Dec. 16, 5:21 p.m. – Lind complainant requested contact regarding an aggressive dog in Lind. Deputy Bernath called the complainant who advised a large dog came from the backyard of a residence on Fifth and I Street and charged at him as he walked by the home. The complainant was concerned the dog might harm someone or a child in the area. Bernath contacted the responsible at the residence and the dog was now inside the house. The subject advised he had not chained up the dog when he left but will do so from now on.
Dec. 16, 5:11 p.m. – Kennewick complainant advised he believes he located an item that belongs to him on Craigslist. The complainant had made phone contact with the subject in Washtucna and advised the item belonged to him. The complainant advised he was meeting the subject on Dec. 17 to collect the item and wanted a deputy there when he did. Deputy Bernath called the complainant and stated he would call if needed assistance.
Dec. 16, 10:07 a.m. – Superior Court requested court security for a child custody hearing. Sergeant Buriak stood by to ensure the peace while court was in session.
Dec. 16, 7:56 a.m. – Washtucna complainant advised of a neighbor’s dog running at large. Deputy Lane contacted the owner who advised the kids left the door open and the dog got out.
Dec. 16, 3:41 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised he was in a one-car non-injury rollover on East Danekas Road. Deputy Bernath arrived on scene. The subject had been traveling westbound and hit a section of ice, which made the vehicle slide across the eastbound lane before rolling over into the ditch. Bernath cited the driver and the vehicle was towed to Pete’s.
Dec. 13, 10:45 p.m. – Trooper Herrington requested assistance taking a subject with a DOC felony warrant for escape into custody on Eastbound I-90 at milepost 221. Deputy Bernath assisted with taking the subject into custody without incident.
Dec. 13, 11:06 a.m. – Ritzville Police Department requested assistance with locating a vehicle at West Third Street in Lind. Deputy Lane responded.
Dec. 13, 9:36 a.m. – Post Falls, Idaho, complainant advised of a traffic collision involving two semis at North Highway 261 in Ritzville. Deputy Lane responded.
Dec. 12, 8:53 p.m. – Lind complainant advised the neighbor’s dog was loose in the area of East Fourth Street. One animal was located and secured by another neighbor who is in charge of the owner’s residence while they are in Spokane due to a medical emergency. The neighbor advised the second dog would be secured when located.
Dec. 12, 3:49 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle on West Fifth Avenue. The vehicle was described as a white suburban that was parked for quite awhile and then left southbound on Highway 261. Deputy Lane checked the area and was unable to locate any vehicles matching the description. Lane contacted the property owner and they advised they will check the area for damage or theft.
Dec. 12, 11:13 a.m. – Ritzville Police Department requested assistance locating a subject on East Fir Avenue. Deputy Lane responded.
Dec. 11, 9:25 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a sign knocked down at East Benge-Winona Road and North Benge-Ritzville Road. Deputy Lane responded and completed a report.
Dec. 11, 9:23 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a sign knocked down at East Leisle Road and North Benge-Ritzville Road. Deputy Lane responded and completed a report.
Dec. 10, 5:37 p.m. – Deputy Bernath was advised of a CPS referral on North Neilson Road in Lind. An investigation and report are to follow.
Dec. 10, 9:01 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a vehicle parked near West Second Street. Deputy Lane contacted the owner and provided him with tow/salvage information.
Dec. 8, 6:05 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised she lost two dogs while they were at North Cow Lake Road. The complainant provided descriptions of both dogs and was provided with the number for Adams County Pet Rescue and advised to contact the Sheriff’s Office if either dog was located. The complainant called on Dec. 10 to advise they had found the dogs.
Dec. 8, 12:30 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised she was concerned that her husbands car may be broke down near East Neergaard Road. Complainant advised the car sometimes is hard to start in the cold weather and he may be stranded somewhere. Deputy Bernath arrived at the residence and observed the car the complainant was worried about. Bernath contacted the complainant who advised her husband must be home. She advised she did not require additional assistance.
Dec. 7, 3:13 p.m. – East Adams Rural Hospital advised of a dog bite victim that was brought to the hospital. Deputy Bernath contacted the family as they were leaving the hospital and en route to Sacred Heart Medical Center. The mother advised her daughter was lying on the family dog when a pipe burst in the house, causing the dog to startle and swing its head up. A tooth from the dog caught the child’s left eye. Bernath reported it did not appear to be an aggressive act on behalf of the dog and sent a release of medical information sheet along with the family to Spokane.
Dec. 7, 12:10 p.m. – Lind complainant advised someone removed five old lawnmowers from West Third Street since Dec. 5. Sergeant Brian Taylor advised the complainant would call back with descriptions of the mowers, but two had large rear wheels.
Dec. 6, 1:40 p.m. – Deputy Lane found a cow in the roadway on East Wellsandt Road. The responsible arrived and put the cow back in the corral.
Dec. 6, 1:33 p.m. – Ritzville complainant reported a burglary that occurred several days prior at North Batum Road. Deputy Lane generated a report.
Dec. 6, 11:34 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a horse without water on East Franz Road. Deputy Lane checked the tank and there was water and a tank heater inside. There were no signs of ice in the tank. Complainant advised they did not see the tank in the corral, only the one by the house.
Dec. 6, 9:24 a.m. – Adams County Public Works advised of vehicles parked on county property in Hatton. Deputy Andrew Boothman made contact with the subject and he advised he would contact the vehicle owner and have them move it that evening.
Dec. 5, 9:54 a.m. – Ritzville complainant reported the mailboxes at East Harder Road and Benge-Ritzville Road were run over. The complainant stood the mailboxes back up by advised this has happened in the past. Deputy Lane completed a report.
Dec. 4, 8:18 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a vehicle at near West Rosenoff and North Deal Roads. The complainant believed it only had its marker lights on. The area was checked and a small fire burning was located with a vehicle similar to the description with is lights on. No other vehicles were located in the area.
Dec. 4, 7:38 p.m. – Lind complainant requested a civil standby at East Fourth Street. A deputy arranged standby with both listed parties and insured the peace while the complainant retrieved belongings.
Dec. 4, 2:48 p.m. – Lind complainant reported a burglary at North Wahl Road. Deputy Lane began an investigation with more to follow.
Dec. 4, 10:39 a.m. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance locating a subject in a domestic violence case at East Davis Road and North Paha-Packard Road.
Dec. 4, 10:00 a.m. – Home Safety Research advised of a burglary alarm at East Rosenoff Road. Upon arrival, Deputy Lane found the front door of the residence open. A search of the house was done and no one was found. The owner arrived and advised they had been there the day before and had secured the house when they left. No items were found to be missing however tracks in the snow outside indicated that someone had been in the residence.
Dec. 4, 8:26 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a burglary at North Batum Road. Deputy Lane responded, more to follow.
Dec. 3, 8:11 a.m. – Lind complainant reported a horse loose on East Hatton Road and South Longmeier Road. Deputy Lane contacted the listed owner who advised they would take care of the horse.
Dec. 3, 2:19 a.m. – Ritzville Police Sergeant Mark Cameron requested assistance searching for a subject on West Broadway Avenue. Deputy Bernath assisted in the search and the subject was not located.
Dec. 2, 3:24 p.m. – Lind complainant reported his residence had been burglarized and his car stolen. Multiple items had been stolen from the house and the car was entered as stolen.
Dec. 2, 11:39 a.m. – Washtucna complainant reported a building at South Benge-Washtucna Road was burgled. Deputy Lane responded with more to follow.
Dec. 2, 11:34 a.m. – Adams County Sheriff’s Office requested an LI for sex offender address verification in Ritzville.
Dec. 1, 11:39 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a subject sleeping in the men’s room at West First Avenue. Complainant advised the subject was not causing a problem and only needed him to leave the bathroom. Deputy Bernath contacted the subject and advised him the store attendant did not want him sleeping in the bathroom. The subject said he understood and left the area. He was wearing heavy clothing and had two large blankets, plus a knapsack.
Dec. 1, 4:14 p.m. – Rezburg, Idaho, complainant advised they needed help with their child who was having an outburst and refusing to get back into their vehicle in Washtucna at Highway 261. The highway traffic was heavy with motorists on their return trip from the Thanksgiving holiday. Deputy Bernath advised dispatch to notify Washington State Patrol as well. Prior to Bernath’s arrival, the child settled down and was safely seated in the vehicle. Bernath spoke with the subject who advised they would be fine now.
