Karen L. Talkington

Karen L. Talkington died Jan. 11 from a heart attack in Ritzville. Karen was born in Yakima on Sept. 2, 1955.

Her family said she will be missed for her humor, laughter and love. Karen lived her life as she chose and was forever a free spirit. She loved birds and how free they were. She was proud of her Cherokee Indian heritage. She will be missed and forever remembered with love.

Karen was preceded in death by her daughter Jeri Brooke Nehls; her parents James R. Talkington and Rosemary Gould, and a baby brother .

She is survived by a grandson, Anthony Smith from Reardan who attends college in Seattle. Karen is also survived by: Kenneth and James Talkington, both of Yakima, sisters; Mary Warren of Moses Lake; Toni Ronan and Faye Schmidt of Ritzville, and Lela Belieu Moore of Auburn. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service for Karen will be at a later date at Terrace Heights Cemetery in Yakima.
