Charles (CJ) Barker

Charles (CJ) Barker, 37, of Everett, died on Dec. 16. CJ was born Feb. 24, 1976, in Renton, to Charles Sr. and Val Barker.

CJ grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1995. He was actively involved in many sports at the Boys and Girls Club, and received many awards and trophies in basketball and baseball. He was an adventurous soul who enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He loved water sports, fishing, hiking and just sitting at the campfire roasting hotdogs. In recent years, he developed a great passion for gardening. He loved spending time with his wife while they tended to their flowerbeds.

He graduated from EVCC with a two year degree in welding. He worked at various local companies doing fabrication work.

He was loved by his family and friends. He was sensitive, compassionate, affectionate and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He will be cherished and greatly missed.

CJ is survived by his wife Peggy of Everett; mother Val Wiitala and step father, Bob Wiitala of Ritzville; sister Marcy Barker and her children, Lindsey and Cassidy of Everett; his father Charles and children Shyla, Danny and Josh of Walla Walla; and grandmother Velma Dehnel of Ritzville.

A service was held Dec. 29 at Solie Funeral Home in Everett.
