Joan Louise (Hawks) Hopkins

Joan Louise (Hawks) Hopkins died on Nov. 13 at Whitman Health and Rehab Center in Colfax at the age of 92.

Joan was born May 26, 1921, in Benge to John Lewis and Clara Emma (Beckley) Hawks. She was raised on the family farm at Benge.

Joan attended the country school at Rock Creek before graduating from LaCrosse High School.

She later married Floyd E. Hopkins on April 18, 1942.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Floyd and grandson Todd Wise.

She is survived by her three children Sandra (Gregg) Wise of Spokane; Monty (Sherry) Hopkins of Steptoe and Micke Hopkins of Colfax; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As was her wish, no public services are planned.

Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is entrusted with the arrangements.
