Annual Turkey Trot returns to the streets

Runners, walkers and turkey trotters are invited back to the streets to participate in the 26th Annual Turkey Trot in Ritzville. The event begins in front of the Ritz Theatre at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, and follows the three mile Ritzville Path.

The Turkey Trot has been held each year since 1988, when three members of the Ritzville School District wellness committee began the event.

In the spirit of fun, prizes are awarded by Warren and John Kragt to the participant who comes from the greatest distance, the oldest trotter, the youngest participant, the fastest participant, the most colorful and also the seediest participant.
