The annual 4-H Achievement Program for area 4-H members took place in Lind on Saturday, Oct. 26. Nearly 30 4-H members and leaders attended the program to celebrate and honor the achievements of local youth.
During the program, Gold, Silver and Go for the Gold Awards were presented to 4-H members who excelled in their specific category. The selection process is based on the members’ project work, growth in the project area, citizenship, community service and leadership.
Receiving Gold Awards for their horse projects are Kate and Rachel Schell. TyAnn Tellefson and Bryce Pichette-Esser earned a Gold Award in the beef projects, and Pichette-Esser also received a Gold Award for his swine project.
Silver Award recipients for horse projects are Heidi Hennings, Rachel Nygren and Catherine Gingrich. In the beef category, Tara Tellefson and Eliza Galbreath earned Silver Awards.
Easton Nelson received a Silver Award for his sheep project, while Madison Melcher, Grace Greenwalt and Thomas Rosen all earned Silver Awards in the swine department. TanAnn Hollenback received a Silver Award in the category of technology, GPS, creative arts, and textiles and clothing.
Three 4-H members received Go for the Gold awards at the Saturday program. Peyton Curtis earned the award for her horse project, while Bryce Kelly and Drew Kelly received the award for their swine projects.
