The 2013 Community Recognition Night and Auction, presented by the Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC), kicks off on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the C.J. Newland American Legion Hall.
The evening themed “A Night in Athens” is highlighted by the presentation of awards, and paired with a Greek dinner and exciting auction items.
The night’s festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour, followed by the catered meal.
The extensive dinner menu for the evening includes Greek specialties such as chicken souvlaki kabobs, Greek seasoned potatoes, sauteed Mediterranean vegetables, tabouleh, Greek greens, roll and butter, and tart Greenbluff apples with brown sugar, cinnamon and oatmeal crumble served with warm and freshly whipped cream.
At the conclusion of the meal, the awards, and live and silent auctions begin.
The awards being presented at the event include Volunteer, Farmer, Male and Female Student, Teacher, Business, First Responder and Employee, of the Year. The RACC received nominations for each award category and the RACC boards votes on the award receipients
