LRMS Barking Points: Students take part in VFW’s essay contest

Patriotism is the spark needed to ignite the flames burning in the hearts of every American, the flames that are pulled together into one giant blaze when Americans focus on a common goal and work together.

If you extinguish the spark of patriotism, then you suffocate the very essence of American pride that is the foundation for the entire country.

That is why, starting Oct. 14 and extending to Nov. 1, the students of Lind-Ritzville Middle School will be expressing their love for America by participating in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) sponsored essay contest, the Patriot’s Pen.
