Ronald C. West died at the age of 84 on Sunday, Oct. 6, in Spokane with family at his side.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1928, to Marvin Millard West and Agnes Harriet (Herron) West near St. John, Wash.
He was raised in the Palouse country, but lived in Colville in his teen years and graduated high school there. He went to trade school as a young man and became a sheet metal worker.
He married Shirley Roggow on Dec. 11, 1949, and they started their family soon after.
He was a sheet metal worker by trade, but a farmer at heart and always worked towards getting back to the farm.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyle, Millard and Howard; sisters, Mildred and Guinevere.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Cheryl (Bob) Volkman, Tammara (Lindahl) Grant and Mellanie (Phil) Ross, Clifford (Michelle) West, Kevin (Carrie) West, Rhonda Moon, Dougless (Jan) West, Wanda (Dan) Terrien, and Stacey (Derek) Holyoak; 27 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 11, from 12-5 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville.
Graveside service is at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Cemetery, immediately followed by a celebration of life at Endicott Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 101 East Banta Street in Endicott.
