Paul C. Reimers

Paul C. Reimers died at the age of 65 on Oct. 13 in Spokane.

He was born on March 2, 1948, to Winston “Blackie” C. and Louise G. (Jewett) Reimers in Seattle.

Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Ritzville. He attended Ritzville schools, graduating in 1966. While in school he was active in band and wrestling. After graduation, he attended Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake.

In June 1967, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and in December 1967 was sent to Vietnam as a member of the Medical Corps. He received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge and Vietnam Campaign Medal for his service in the Army. He was honorably discharged in 1970.

Following his discharge he lived in various places including Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Colorado, Oregon and most recently in Spokane.

He was a beloved brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at North Central Care Center for the loving care they gave to him during his tenure.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Blackie and Louise; and brother, Eddie Reimers.

He is survived by his son, Joshua of Mankato, Minn .; five brothers, Winston (Mary) of Fayetteville, N.C., Steven and Fred of Spokane, William (Janis) of Boise, Idaho, and Michael (Jeanne) of Connell; six sisters, Marsha Smith of Ritzville, Carrie (Ron) Knight of Mountlake Terrace, Patricia (Charles) Wilson of Lincoln, Neb., Frances (Chuck) Rabaliati of The Dalles, Ore., Mary Reimers of Portland, Ore. and Cecilia (Craig) Dalzell of Mead; as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation is to be Friday, Oct. 18, from 2-7 p.m., with a rosary immediately following at Danekas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Saint Agnes Catholic Church located at 404 East Fifth Street in Ritzville. Interment is at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory located at 207 East Main Avenue in Ritzville.
