Mentor program seeks volunteers

Inspired by a mini retreat last spring, local community member Dede Brown is hoping to organize a mentor program for area women.

After attending an Aglow International retreat at the Ritzville Foursquare Church, Brown learned about community groups called Aglow Lighthouses, which are formed within communities, neighborhoods or by individuals. Lighthouses are meant to bring men and women of faith together to support each other, share Bible studies and create outreach programs within the community.

Brown believes there is a local need for a Lighthouse, or a mentor group such as this, and is seeking potential volunteers to assist in making this dream a reality. Brown is looking for interested participants to offer assistance with classes, financial needs and serve as prayer partners.

Brown wishes to offer this program to area women who are interested in learning life skills such as cooking, cleaning, sewing and caring for children. Additionally, Brown hopes to be joined by women from other faiths, towns and churches to reach all those in need.

Anyone interested in participating should contact Brown by email at [email protected] or by calling 253-970-5570.
