Annexation of Love’s to begin

The Ritzville City Council unanimously approved a petition for annexation submitted by the Love’s Corporation Tuesday.

The petition launches a lengthy legal process where the 12 acres will become part of the Ritzville city limits.

The request includes the ground not owned by Love’s between its property and the current city limits. That ground encompasses a portion of Interstate 90. In Washington, in order to annex ground into a city, it must be contiguous portions of land, thus not creating islands.
