The Washington State Weed Conference, one of the largest meetings of its kind in the United States, is celebrating its 63rd Anniversary Nov. 6-8 at the Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel.
The nearly three-day event includes over 40 speakers, workshops, general and concurrent break-out sessions, an indoor and outdoor tradeshow, luncheon, social and a weed quiz with cash prizes.
Attendees have the opportunity to earn pesticide license recertification credits for Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
There are also Certified Crop Advisor Credits available.
This year’s conference features Allen Felsot, Professor and Extension Specialist at Washington State University and Timothy Smith a Regional Extension Tree Fruit Specialist with Washington State University.
New this year will be a session presented entirely in Spanish. Spanish speaking attendees will be able to earn Pesticide Recertification Credits through the class.
The Weed Warrior award, recognizing achievement in weed control, and 2013 Honorary Association members will be announced on Wednesday.
“Weed Cup” trophies will be presented in the annual weed quiz, which includes both a professional and fun division.
Cash prizes are also awarded in the professional division.
A photo contest will be held with cash prizes for the winners.
The conference is open to the public, with a fee of $110 for those registered by Oct. 28, and $140 if registered thereafter.
