The state’s three national winners of the Distinguished Young Women, formerly America’s Junior Miss program, will emcee the Aug. 3 Washington state scholarship program set for Washington State University’s Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.
The newly named national winner for 2013, Nicole Renard of Kennewick, will join Washington’s and America’s Junior Miss winners Linda Felber, for 1964, and Lenne Jo Hallgren Best, for 1976, on stage during the evening of competition.
Twenty Washington high school seniors arrive in Pullman at the end of the month to begin practicing several stage routines that highlight the 7 p.m. 2013-14 Distinguished Young Women program at the coliseum.
Danielle Kallaher, program co-chair, said each participant will perform a talent number and participate in fitness and self-expression routines during the evening program. The teens meet individually with a panel of judges earlier. More than $10,000 in college scholarships will be awarded at the state program.
Tickets are available through TicketsWest outlets and at the door the evening of the program.
Those participating in the 2014 program include Maya Wahl of Lind and Dalyn Killian of Ritzville.
