Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
After completing rock crushing last week, work crews are now moving gravel as part of the Lind-Hatton Road reconstruction project.
Apollo Inc. is the contractor handling the project, and closed Lind-Hatton Road between Highway 21 and Phillips Road for construction on April 29.
The nearly five-mile stretch of the roadway has a mid-August completion date for the construction, but Adams County Engineer Scott Yaeger estimates the project is almost a week behind schedule.
The road is expected to open to thoroughfare traffic in October after the Adams County Public Works department has time to complete paving and final updates on the road.
Two pay estimates have been approved for the project to Apollo Inc., with the first pay estimate being $627,990 for all work completed as of May 31.
The Adams County Commissioners approved the second pay estimate on July 17 for $36,582.06 for all work completed through the month of June.
The Lind-Hatton Road Project No. 4 was listed as the third priority on the six-year transportation plan presented and approved by the Adams County Commissioners last December.
The total project is estimated at $2,402,675 and is being fund by the Rural Arterial Program (RAP).
