Duane “Bunk” Koch died at the age of 71 in his niece’s home in Rogers, Arkansas, on July 13.
Bunk was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Ritzville to Berthold and Hilda (Heiydt) Koch, the first born of twins to the couple.
After graduating from Ritzville High School in 1959, he worked and lived in Ritzville, staying home and close to his friends and roots. Bunk was a lifetime resident of Ritzville.
He was a collector of classic cars, both the real deal as well as models he proudly displayed. Although he never married or had children of his own, he was extremely loved by his niece and nephews, as well as countless great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his twin, Wayne Koch; and parents, Berthold and Hilda. He is survived by his niece, Ronni (Jeff) Harding of Rogers, Arkansas; nephew’s Daniel (Glayce) Koch of Spokane, Kevin (and Kristy) Koch of Reardan; two brothers, Jerry Koch of Ritzville, Joe Koch of Connell and one sister, Judy Maxwell of Spokane.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, at the Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ in Ritzville.
