Annual auto show draws crowd in Washtucna

The Eighth Annual Washtucna Auto Show served as a host to a large variety of cars, trucks and motorcycles at the Washtucna ball field on Saturday, June 29. The annual event attracted vehicles from across the state of Washington and from neighboring states.

For the past eight years, Cliff Plumb has been at the helm of the coordinating committee for the auto show, but this year marked his final year as event coordinator. Fellow coordinators and family members presented Plumb with a thank you poster signed by auto show participants, friends and family to thank him for his eight years of service to the Washtucna community event.

Plumb mentioned that he intends to assist the future coordinator with the details of the event in hopes of the show continuing for many more years.

The car show coordinators also made a variety of donations to local organizations and community members for the improvement of the Washtucna community. The auto show donated $500 to the Rimrock Grange and also made a $1,000 matching donation from Caring Neighbors to Adams County Fire District No. 7.

Coordinators also donated a self-propelled lawnmower to Pat St. Hilarie for his dedicated service to the Town of Washtucna. St. Hilarie volunteers his time by providing maintenance and upkeep of the town’s park on Main Avenue and Highway 26.
